- Add coconut milk, panela and vanilla to a medium-sized saucepan. Gently bring to boil on a medium-heat. Reduce to simmer and cook for 35-40 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Once the sauce has thickened, remove from heat and stir in salt. Taste and adjust accordingly (careful, it’s hot!)
- Let the sauce cool slightly as it continues to thicken, then serve warm. Or transfer to a jar and allow to cool completely before storing in the fridge for up to one week.
