  1. Add coconut milk, panela and vanilla to a medium-sized saucepan. Gently bring to boil on a medium-heat. Reduce to simmer and cook for 35-40 minutes, stirring frequently.
  2. Once the sauce has thickened, remove from heat and stir in salt. Taste and adjust accordingly (careful, it’s hot!)
  3. Let the sauce cool slightly as it continues to thicken, then serve warm. Or transfer to a jar and allow to cool completely before storing in the fridge for up to one week.
